Not Your Daddy's GT
Mercedes-Benz’s latest iteration of the AMG GT series is the full-throated European supercar. Even while idle, cars of this iconic line, such as the GT 43, GT 55, and GT 63, seem ready to pounce. They’re low to the ground while retaining the elegant and lean look the series is so famous.
Everything about the stellar AMG GT series is aerodynamic yet low-profile. From their iconic, pronounced grille bars, forward air intakes, windswept bodies, and performance spoilers on their tails, they’re an aesthetic blend of high-performance roadster and next-generation fighter jet.
As the owner of Mercedes-Benz of Pensacola, Jock Mobley, attests, “Even while parked in your garage, the GT pulls at your Need for Speed and screams Let’s Go!”
With a storied race-winning history, the Mercedes AMG GT line is even more refined, but undoubtedly still built for maximum performance. Only within its second generation, current AMG GTs implement innovation and new technologies while maintaining their iconic decade-old look.

Outside of their resilient and lightweight aluminum spaceframe construction, these cars feature many performance improvements. Its Airpanel, with active aerodynamics helps with stability and adds to the vehicle’s fighter plane appearance. This innovative, intelligent system, revealed by Mercedes-Benz in 2024, allows intakes to be opened and closed depending on temperature and speed. This allows better regulation at higher velocities, improved front-axle lift control, and more adherence of the vehicle to the road surface for a better driving experience.
With these sleek designs, AMG GTs utilize only the most robust power plants and drivetrains to achieve outstanding acceleration and launch times. The GT 55, for example, achieves this with a handcrafted 4.0L V8 biturbo engine delivering 0 to 60mph in under 3.8 seconds and a top track speed of 183mph. Now with enhanced 4Matic all-wheel drive, the GT 63 does even better, employing the same M177 V8 engine and reaching 0 to 60 in a breathtaking 2.7 seconds.
Out on the road, current AMG GTs continue to handle like a dream, managing numerous road surfaces or inclines without issue, even at high speed.
To achieve this, the GT 55 and GT 63 feature 4Matic all-wheel drive, which allows both manual and driving condition responses to change the torque distribution. This makes for better handling and acceleration even on loose or uneven road surfaces. The latest GTs also feature an electronically limited-slip differential, for greater control when cornering, braking, or accelerating, adapting to conditions and driver input as they arise.
As for their cockpits, modern GTs share many dapper, contemporary elements with their exterior designs focused principally on driver experience. The GT series always finds new ways to blend luxury and refined automotive dynamism through various package options. Its prominent instrument displays connect to the Mercedes-Benz User Experience and includes an intuitive touch button steering wheel for distraction-free navigation.

Whether you’re more into a relaxing drive lulled by heated memory foam seats or controlling a white-knuckled turn, the cockpit characteristics of the latest AMG GTs are perfect for getting the most out of this supercar experience.
Road hazards and unpreventable circumstances are bound to happen regardless of speed and handling.
In response, current GTs have several noteworthy safety elements for when things go wrong on the blacktop. Two of the most convenient features are the brake and crosswind assist. These allow the vehicle to make automatic adjustments to avoid collisions. With the crosswind assist, strategic breaking of the wheels on one side of the car balance heavy winds or a passing large vehicle. One of the most impressive elements is the Car-to-X communication, which detects and alerts the driver, and other nearby drivers, of road dangers and car issues through a central notification system.

Through its looks, horsepower, and inventive traits, the GT lineup continues to be a rising star for Mercedes-Benz. Built for speed, with an eye for aesthetics, it makes sense the current lineup has become one of the company’s best sellers.
However, becoming the owner of one of these great machines is only part of the experience. Doing so with the aid of the Gulf Coast’s award-winning dealership, Mercedes-Benz of Pensacola, makes it even easier. As the longest locally owned Mercedes-Benz dealer in the area, owner Jock Mobley and his son John, are committed to providing an amazing ownership experience for you.
